For most illustrators our portfolio is what we assume our instagram or our websiteautomatically is.  

We think if I pop all these nice drawings I’ve done together, it’ll make up my portfolio! 

Which isn’t entirely true!

Your portfolio is NOT a collection of your favourite pieces.

If you’re just putting your favourite pieces into your portfolio, you’re actually doing yourself a disservice.

Portfolios are SUCH an under utilised tool to get work in, instead of thinking what work can I get from my portfolio, start thinking what portfolio do I NEED to get the work I want.

That's why we're going to focus on portfolios for a bit!

They are such an interesting way to develop your style, work and career opportunities.
