So last week I finally hit the post button on instagram, after 2 long years, and guess what happened?

Did it pop off and go viral? Did everyone rejoice in the streets? Did that day get etched into the tomes of history?  Nope, nada, nay.

Getting a career as an Illustrator can seem like a daunting task.

It seems everyone's busy out there succeeding, hustling or just always doing something.

And you might be sitting there thinking, what am I meant to be doing to make it happen?

2025 marks the 12th year since I started live event illustrating… Don’t ask me how I managed to book my first job when I was 6 years old… child prodigy🌝

Want some good news illustrators? Becoming a full time fashion illustrator is the most attainable it has ever been!

Because of social media (love it or hate it) we’re in an era where artists being able to make income from their work is at it’s most accessible, so that’s a beacon of hope!

So in the past I’ve used January as a proper lazy month, I’m someone that once I’ve stopped and taken time off I find it real hard to get back into it again. So 2 weeks off for Christmas and new years I can’t just go in to January full guns blazing, takes me a while to defrost.

A lot of people are worried ai will steal their work. 

So I’m here to share a way to protect your career from ai, and I’m NOT talking about opting out of your imagery being used to train it.

AI is a topic that I get asked about a looooot, I think there’s huge amount of worry around and rightfully so, it’s the unknown, but something pops up every few decades to disturb the entire creative process (photography, digital art, 3d rendering) and things shift and adjust, so this isn’t the first and won’t be the last.
